Horizontal Screw Conveyor Case Study

Application

Industries: Food, cosmetics, chemical

Features

The HSC 600 screw feeder features a matched pair combination “paddle” and “ribbon” agitator blades in its hopper that move the product through the auger flights. The screw feeder features a conveyor that makes use of adjustable guide rails, enabling the use of different container sizes. A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Touch Screen Human/Machine Interface (HMI) mounts on the front of the machine and controls filling, weighing, and container control functions. The HMI allows for saving 25 different recipe setups, tied to container type, weight, or product.

The HSC 600 features a stainless steel auger housing mounted below a 24” square inlet hopper. The design allows for the packaging equipment to take up a minimal amount of space. The key to the space saving design is a horizontal screw conveyor. The original model had a painted frame, but a new offering for the machinery is a stainless steel frame to meet NEMA 4X washdown needs.
