THE PURPOSE OF LIFT AND VIBRATION

February 18th, 2015

If you are in search of an automatic auger filling machine for your next packaging line, All-Fill Inc. highly recommends that you look into utilizing the lift and vibration features.  Often times customers are working around a budget or see these features as “unneeded extras,” but lift and vibration are crucial for a vast majority of non-free flowing products, although the vibration feature is used a majority of times for free flow products.  Each application is different, that is why we encourage all users of our equipment to send sample product and containers to All-Fill for testing and evaluation.

Products such as protein powders, flour, pancake mix, and milk powder often times require lift, vibration or both features to reach the desired fill.  “The need for lift and or vibration is mostly determined by how much product the customer wants to fit into a container.  Sometimes, customers use a container that is not ideal for the amount of product that they want to package.  Other times, the customer wants to over pack a container in order to have a marketing advantage over a competitor, says Danny Durante International Sales Director for All-Fill Inc.

If you have an All-Fill auger filling machine that is a model SHA-600 (single head automatic auger filling machine), DHA-600 (dual head automatic filling machine) or any other type of custom made in line filling system and would like to retrofit either lift or vibration, All-Fill can help.  Attached to this blog is an instructional video demonstrating the capabilities of each feature, enjoy!

Packagers that use a vast majority of containers and fill them at various weights should most certainly utilize the lift and/or vibration features.  Lift and vibration are very common on machines installed at various contract packagers.  Given the vast array of applications that they handle, and the ever changing needs of the customer, each option is important as they strive to fill the container as expected.  In addition to making sure that the target weight/volume of product in container is accurate, the lift feature does a very good job of keeping dust down during the fill process.  The vibration feature simply creates a consistent level in the product.  Almost always, this product level tends to decrease even further during shipment, perhaps an over fill of your container is needed?

Of course there are various lift strokes and vibrator types available.  If you want to have a clean filling operation that yields great accuracy and a machine that shows well, think about these options.  Please allow All-Fill to handle your next packaging application, we look forward to the challenge.
