Western US retailer and packager of vitamins, dietary supplements, natural/organic foods, and natural body care products was expanding their facility and decided to expand output of their packaged bakery products. Based on previous experience with All-Fill auger fillers, as well as familiarity with the Avatar line of form-fill-seal equipment prior to its acquisition by All-Fill, the customer decided to single source its filling and bagging needs with a Model A22009 Form-Fill-Seal machine and a Model VF210-HD Vibratory Feeder.

The Model A2200 from Avatar handles packages from 2.5” x 3” up to 12” x 20” with weights up to 15 lbs. per package at production rates up to 75 per minute. The Model VF210-HD is a heavy duty, dual lane vibratory feeder capable of dispensing from 2-60 lb. per cycle. A configuration of primary and cascade vibrating pans ensure proper fill amounts are dispensed at the desired production rates for the A2200 bagger.

Control and operation of feeding/bagging functions was merged into a single PLC program and touch screen HMI. Up to 50 different setup recipes are available for each product,  fill weight, or container with complete control of amounts filled by the vibratory feeder and form-fill-seal operations of the A2200. A unique “AUTOSET” feature allows the operator to merely select the number of bags per minute and the controls automatically adjust all other timing, temperature, and film parameters.
